Mouse Chow reference w/ clothes

a poor single mother, living in a rundown house with her young baby.

she is jobless and barely gets by with enough food to feed them both, one night she hears her baby crying. she assumes her child is hungry but not having enough food, she decides to let her baby cry and feed her later. after a while the crying gets louder and more panicked, and doesn’t sound right.

the mother walks in to see blood inside the crib, where a rat had been attacking her child. the baby now with areas of chewed off skin, and some of her lower stomach open/bones showing.

in a panic, the mother runs into the kitchen, grabbing a knife, and stabs the rat. the mother, in a fit, cuts off pieces of the rat and uses them to cover the baby's showing organs, and bones. the baby, barely breathing, had stopped crying, had become unconscious at that point.

the mother, who had limited magical knowledge/skill, tried to then graft the rats skin to the baby, hoping it would work as the baby would surely die due to the blood loss. after the shoddy spell was cast the mother passed out, only to awaken to a crying baby, hungry for food.

she takes care of her baby, as any mother would from then on, telling people the patches of fur and different colored skin were a birth defect.

as the baby grew into a toddler, the mother noticed that one half of her childs body (the half that had the most skin grafted) seemed to be less skin colored by the month. it seemed the rat skin patches were taking over that half of it’s body. to the point where it’s foot was completely the wrong color.

the mother then took every liberty to hid her child growing up, from not letting her go outside, to holding a fake funeral so noone would come looking for her freak of a child.

she got a “job” which earned enough money that she could feed and cloth her and her child, who at this point was about 8 now? the child was not allowed to leave the attic, in fear that the other people would attack her as a freak. the mother worked hard to save up money so they could move into a place with less people so her kid would be safer, but one day she was killed by a man she was working for.

at that point, the child had grown up to be about 15, and had snuck out of the house on a couple occasions. she had many bite marks, as the rats and mice in their house constantly would attack her, she didn’t know why they were so hostile towards her though. as far as she knew, she was just born that way.

after her mother didn’t come home, she left the house, bringing all he belongings sh could carry, and covering herself with a large hood (at this point, she looked more like a rat then she used to, even having large chewed up rat ears and a pink nub that could be mistaken for a tail. half of her face was grey and had what appeared to be whiskers, and her eye was sewed shut, but the other half looked like a normal sweet little girls face, other then the rat ear)

she found an abandoned shack near the edge of a forest, and made that her home, where she now lives…
